About

My name is Leroy Wiese and I am the president and founder of Thousand Hills Beef Project (THBP).

We are excited to launch the public phase of THBP. Over the last year, the ministry has started and we provided protein for 4,000 meals to those in need. While my wife, Diana, and I lived in Arizona, our children raised steers to show and sell at the county fair each year. The idea to give away beef was placed in our hearts around 15 years ago at Cowboy Church at the Pinal County Fair in Arizona. We began by taking an offering that provided enough funds to purchase and process one steer. It continued the following year where we gained more momentum and purchased different species of animals. We donated the meat to Home of Hope in Casa Grande, Arizona.

In 2012, my wife and I moved our family to Sullivan, Missouri. While there, we planted a church and, once again, our children showed steers at the local fair. In 2018, the idea of giving beef away again stirred in our hearts. In March of 2019, THBP incorporated and became a legal nonprofit. The Rock Church in Sullivan, Missouri began raising funds for THBP on the first Sunday of every month. Soon after, a steer was donated and ministry began. In a short period of time, funds were raised and a second steer was purchased. Another steer was donated and another was purchased. In December of 2019, two steers were processed and donated to three local ministries-Life House YC in Sullivan, Missouri; Hannah’s Ranch in Cuba, Missouri; and First Assembly of God Food Pantry in Steelville, Missouri.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started, we felt that we should process our remaining two beef. They were then donated to House of Hope Food Pantry in Sullivan, Missouri.

In addition to the donations of two steers, we also had hay and grain donated to THBP. As we receive more funds, we plan to purchase at least two mature cows for breeding and at least 2 steers to finish out and produce more protein for people and organizations in need.

We appreciate all the help and support as we move forward with this ministry.

Blessings,

Pastor Leroy & Diana Wiese
